Outdoor Certification
Submit your registration and course online by selecting the trainng date in each description that you wish to attend. After completing the registration form, you will be directedto the Council Shop webpage for course fee payment. The Adult Development Course Development Registration Form is also available to download and print if you wish to register by mail or fax. Make your check or money order payable to Girl Scouts of Citrus Council.
Archery Instructor Training
This one day program trains adults to become Level 1 archery instructors through the National Archery Association. No previous archery experience is required. Participants should bring a water bottle, notepad and pen and wear closed-toe shoes.
Fee: $50.00 (Includes program materials and lunch)

Canoe Instructor Training
This one day program trains adults to lead canoeing on flat-water (lakes, some rivers, etc.). Topics include: basic water rescue, spinal management, risk management, self-rescue, and advanced rescue. Completion of this course results in American Red Cross Small Craft Safety: Canoeing certification; valid for three years. Participants must have basic canoeing skills prior to enrolling in course. Participants must be able to paddle in a straight line for 50yds forward and 50yd backward, complete a dry re-entry, and complete a canoe-over-canoe rescue in order to successfully pass course. Strong swimming skills are required.

Camporee Director Training
People interested in planning/directing a service unit camporee must attend this Camporee Director Training. Topics will include: risk management, event planning basics, food safety, camp emergency procedures, etc. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Food Safety and Menu Overview
The SafeStaff food handling certification is good for any food establishment in Florida, and is required for anyone handling or serving food. This course will go over food safety, large group menus, and a tour of the kitchen at Mah-Kah Wee. There will be a certification test at the end. This training is required for anyone wanting to use the kitchen at one of our properties.

Day Camp Manager Training
This fun weekend is for ALL current and prospective day camp managers. Sessions provide information on logistics, hiring and staffing of day camps for the 2010 and beyond Spring Break and Summer Day Camp sessions as well as “Nuts and Bolts” of day-to-day operations and continuing education in day camp related topics.
Fee: No Charge
Prospective manages - please do not register to attend if you just want information – this is an intensive training. If you have interest but aren’t sure about the commitment for day camp or a training weekend, contact Suzi Harris.
