Girl Scout membership is open to all girls ages 5-17 years old or from kindergarten through 12th grade. Girl Scouts of Citrus Council (GSCC) serves girls regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, economic status or disability. The program is open to all girls who are physically and developmentally disabled.

Girl Scout Promise and LawGirl Scouting is a fun learning experience for all girls. Girls need a safe, nurturing environment to help them grow strong – physically, mentally and emotionally – and we help them find it. Girl Scouting has four fundamental goals that express the ways girls may benefit from their Girl Scout experiences: it encourages girls to make decisions, try new activities, give back to their communities, and feel proud of their accomplishments. In the process, girls build Courage, Confidence and Character. Girl Scouting draws its strength from a variety of factors: a well-researched program, age appropriate activities, and dedicated adult leadership.

Program Grade Levels

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience identifies three "keys" to Leadership: Discover, Connect and Take Action. Girl Scout experiences are as much as possible, girl led and encourage learning by doing and cooperative learning. This promotes the fun and friendship that is so integral to Girl Scouting. In Girl Scouting girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world. They care about, inspire and team with others locally and globally. They act to make the world a better place.
